“In this situation , architecture itself must operate on the basics of logics that are no longer confined , to the traditional functional typologies or to simple exercises of formal manipulation of the material for a manifestly iconic purpose ; what is needed is a logic that responds to the processes and conditions that obtain where it is to be inserted ”

“Geomorphosis of ice -regeneration of natural space leading to the formation of structures using geometry based on the topography of the place.”
The Arctic Circle, north of Norway. An almost ghost town Vardo with a population of 2,200 people. The landscape shaped by water and wind. On the other hand the uniqueness of flora and fauna, vast deposits of oil and high energy water – the attributes of the Barents Sea. The project involves the formation proccess divided to various stages.
The first is to create a grid tailored to the site’s topography (modified rectangular grid obtained from simulating the resonance of the sea waves from the rocky shores). Finally the procces ends with the new strategy for Vardo – reusage of the harbour and the creation of new structures ( leading to further city developement).
The project on generating energy from water and responding to the citizens needs (questionnaire by Facebook).
